Denmark: Her er hyggelig!

Her er hyggelig! Der Wind pfeift um das Haus, drinnen brennt ein Kaminfeuer. Manche nennen es "Pech mit dem Wetter", andere stattdessen "Urlaub für Fortgeschrittene". Für mich gibt es einfach nichts Schöneres, nichts Entspannenderes als nach Dänemark an die Küste zu fahren. Dann stiefelt man, eingepackt in Mütze und Schal, über die Dünen und sieht zum ersten Mal das Meer. Der Wind treibt die Wellen so hoch und vertreibt gleichzeitig alle schweren Gedanken aus dem Kopf. Das pure Glück. Manchmal braucht man diese absolute Ruhe. Keine Menschenseele. Um wirklich einmal abzuschalten und loszulassen. Danach ist man bereit für Neues. Neue Städte, neue Bekanntschaften, neue Ideen. Danach kann man sich wieder ins Leben stürzen. Und sich auf die nächste Auszeit freuen.

Her er hyggelig! The wind howls around the house, a fire is burning inside the fireplace. Some might say we were unlucky with the weather, others that it's the kind of weather for "advanced vacationers". For me there's simply nothing more relaxing than the Danish sea shore. Walking up the dunes, all bundled up in a hat and a scarf, and seeing the sea again for the first time. The wind drives the waves so high and and removes all heavy thoughts. Pure happiness. You sometimes need this absolute silence. Not a single person. To really unwind and let go. And then you're ready for something new. New cities, new people, new ideas. Then you can plunge back into life. And look forward to the next break.
